The strange figure left a group of trekkers quaking in their walking boots after it appeared in the Ukraine's Chatyr-Dag mountain region. What is it?
Some claim it could be a natural phenomenon known as a Brocken Spectre. The rare illusions are created when a low sun shines behind someone looking down into fog from a ridge.
The heads of the figures are often surrounded by rings of coloured light, an effect caused by the diffraction of visible light.
To add to the frightening effect, the ghostly figures can sometimes appear to move, often very suddenly, due to the drifting of the clouds. Natural phenomena or a possible dimetional, celestial being?
Locals in Colombia's Andes Mountains are baffled by the "natural mummies" found in one cemetery. The bodies have remained preserved without any chemical treatment.

The mystery surrounding the natural mummies of San Bernardo, Columbia have confounded people for 55 years.
No one knows why these buried bodies are preserved so well but speculation abounds.
Father Carlos Julio Cardenas Torres, Parish Priest of San Bernardo:
"It is thought that it could be one of two possibilities. The first is the climate, the ground temperature of where we're at. The second, which is thought the more precise and concrete argument, is the food eaten."
Many locals believe the regional diet, mainly a type of squash called chayote, is behind the preserved bodies.
Other believes it has to do with the cemetery location, which was moved in 1957 due to erosion near the old cemetery.
Jose Del Carmen Rojas, Local:
"I think the geographic location of the cemetery, the actual site. I think it is something to do with the universe, because it never happened at the old cemetery, never. No mummies ever came out of there."
In Colombia it is customary to put the dead in an above ground tomb where the body remains for five years.
Then the family gathers up the remains-usually just bones- and moves them to a smaller nearby ossuary.
About 55 years ago these remains started coming out with skin, hair and clothing intact, and no one knows why.
The groundskeepers at the San Bernardo cemetery confirmed the bodies are not embalmed or treated with anything to preserve them.
Curious locals flocked to the home of owner Feng Changlin after news of a strange creature spread in Fengzhang village, Xiping township.
"It's hideous. No one will be willing to buy it, and it scares the family to even look at it!" Feng told Oriental Today.
He says the creature (a piglet) looks just like a monkey, with two thin lips, a small nose and two big eyes. Its rear legs are also much longer than its forelegs, causing it to jump instead of walk.
Feng's wife said the monkey-faced piglet was one of five newborns of a sow which the family had raised for nine years.
"My God, it was so scary. I didn't known what it was. I was really frightened," she said.
"But our son likes to play with it, and he stopped us from getting rid of it. He even feeds it milk."
Neighbours have suggested the couple keep the piglet to see how it looks as it matures.
A compilation of videos with strange beings and animal mutilations spawned by strange freaks of nature, genetic problems or experiments, even sexual contact between human and animal cannot be excluded.
WOMAN GIVES BIRTH TO HORSE CREATURE
General Overseer of the church, Evangelist Rev. Silva Wealth said he was also in shock and amazement at what came out of the woman.
He said a revelation came to him during prayer session that there was a woman with an issue and that something was blocking her womb. Evangelist Silva said as prayers intensified, the woman started screaming and bleeding and then the object came out.
But he couldn't confirm whether the horse was dead or alive because he didn't go near it.
"I can't describe the object. We have seen people vomiting several things during our service, but not this type of thing. God has been blessing our ministry with prophesies and miracles," he said, adding that people rushed to the church to catch a glimpse of the horse when news of the delivery filtered into town. WEIRD TROLL CAPTURED IN AFRICA
Locals came across this strange creature while they were escorting a shooting party in Namibia. Witness's state that the creature was spotted apparently foraging for food, one of the shooting party wounded it with his rifle and it escaped into the thick brush.
The locals tracked it to a nearby lair or nest where they found three more creatures of similar size. The wounded creature attacked one of the shooting party and it was shot dead, the others escaped into the brush.
The body of the creature was taken back to the local camp, police later removed its corpse and a full forensics investigation is under way.
SHEEP GIVES BIRTH TO HALF HUMAN CREATURE
Residents of Sokoto metropolis are yet to come to terms with the unbelievable incident that occcurred in the city recently. That was when a sheep gave birth to a monstrous being at a government owned veterinary clinic in the Sokoto State capital.
The news suddenly came into town at about 5pm that a monster- human-like creature had been discovered in a sheep's womb during an operation carried out by some veterinary surgeons in the state.
The scene which took place at Fakon Idi Veterinary Clinic, drew thousands of onlookers that trooped out from different parts of the metropolis to catch a glance of the strange being.
A horrified onlooker, who simply gave his name as Danladi, wondered how such a development could happen in a morally upright state like Sokoto where the Islamic faith is so deep.
ALIEN HYBRID DISCOVERED IN SOUTH AMERICA
Residents of the South American village have decided that the pig's odd human-shaped head is the doing of visitors from outer space, after strange bright lights were spotted hovering in the sky on the night of its birth. The poor pig, which is one of a litter of 11, has been described as looking like a cross between a human and something from the Alien movies.
Farmer Laureano Escobar Arias said: 'I was shocked - it was a really terrifying experience.
'It looked like some kind of alien creature.'
However, local health officials have suggested that there are more earthly reasons for the pig's appearance.
'We don't know for certain but it could have been caused by a genetic problem or by environmental pollution,' one commented.
A bit closer to home, pathologists are investigating a series of animal mutilations in Wales, with aliens once again the suspected culprits.
It is thought that the surgical-style injuries are too sophisticated for other animals to cause and, once again, bright lights were seen near the scene.
